Hailey Acevedo - Say My Name

Hailey’s curly hair was usually the first thing everyone noticed about her, followed by her big personality which earned her the nickname, “Princess Sassypants.” She was a beautiful little lady and always the best dressed.

She enjoyed playing, doing puzzles, shopping for dresses and stuffies, and taking blue Mustang rides to get cake pops. She loved her family, arts and crafts, virtual preschool, Elsa, unicorns, dinosaurs, costumes, Daniel Tiger, Bluey, Halloween, pumpkin pie, and her puppy, Skye.

Her favorite color was dark pink, she never left home without a hair bow, and she was always ready for a dance party or a picnic.

Hailey was diagnosed with DIPG on 4/15/2021 when she was just three years old. She underwent 30 rounds of radiation and began her first clinical trial shortly thereafter at St. Jude. Upon tumor progression, she completed another 10 rounds of re-irradiation at St. Jude and enrolled in her second trial at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Those trials helped Hailey to defy the odds and feel well for 17 months. During treatment, Hailey was able to visit Disney World twice, spend time at the beach and the botanical gardens, go camping, and visit her family in Florida. She lived life to the fullest, fought like a princess, and made many friends along the way. Hailey passed away at home on 9/24/2021.
