He collected friends from all walks of life. Jace was smart and ornery. He could convince you of anything, and he gave the BEST hugs.

Jace loved football and offered darn good advice. He was headed to law school soon, then he had a little double vision which turned into a diagnosis of 6 to 9 months to live – DIPG, the deadliest brain cancer. Jace didn’t want pity, instead he comforted his friends saying, “Guys, I can’t die, I’m busy!”

And busy Jace stayed all 25 months of his battle with DIPG. He spoke for children who had not yet learned to use their voice. He spoke at the NIH, at Congress, and caused radical change by reminding those who could help that DIPG Won’t Wait. Jace raised nearly $1M for research while fighting DIPG. He co-founded Tough2gether Foundation to continue helping families, funding research, and making a better way for those fighting childhood cancer today.

Jace would say, “I’ve lived a good life, what breaks my heart are the little ones who haven’t started school, driven a car, skipped school, or played ball under the lights. They deserve a chance; they need our help now to fund the fight. I’m not afraid to die, I’m afraid I won’t make an impact before I do.”
